But I just found another vender, making 4 in total, who sells the 57xtremes in 17x9 in semi-gloss black. IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!! What's more the price is about 100 dollars lower than others!

I was at a meet tonight with a few local 86 owners and one of them had these, good choice!

Good choice for the looks, not so nice on the wallet. It is a bit annoying that no one sells the wheels in 17x9 though. It is such a pain to find. I should have the funds by the end of the month though, and hopefully someone should have these in stock.

Yeah, but once you do get them i'll look sick. Have you tried searching the used section of the 86 forums? I picked up my RPF1s with TPMS and tires (unfortunately stock) for right around $900

I have, and people only seem to like these wheels in staggered set ups or 18x9.5s all around. I found one in 17x7, but I wanted wider.

I almost forgot about TPMS, which is another thing I will have to buy. I guess it isn't a necessity. As long as I check the tire pressures regularly, then I shouldn't have a problem.

lol, you learn to ignore the lights. Even though mine have the sensors installed, I never went through the trouble of re-calibrating the computer for the new sensors. I don't even know if it is possible without knowing the ID codes printed on the side of each sensor, and since mine are inside the tires I'm SOL.

My friend has RPF1s on his FRS and he never bothered to get TPMS sensors. He basically said the same thing "you get used to it." I might get some in the future if they aren't a hassle to install, but for now the aim is wheels and some grippy tires that last a long time... Hopefully.

not sure how much luck you will have finding grippy tires that "last a long time". From what I understand the max performance summer tires are only good for so many heat cycles. Most of the guys I spoke with at the track said that the rubber becomes hard enough to kill the grip long before the tread is worn down.

I won't have any luck. I was thinking Hankook RS3s but I heard their thread life isn't very good. I will most likely be going for Michellen Pilot Super Sport. Gonna have to give up dry grip for some life.
